Pentax Optio WG-2 - Another Waterproof Compact
To become available soon
By PF Staff in Pentax Rumors on Feb 3, 2012

A new Pentax Optio WG-2 has just been posted by Adorama and is available for pre-order. This is the third new camera from Pentax in under a week- they are on a roll! Also, it seems that Pentax may have decided to finally adapt a consistent naming scheme!
The following specifications are currently known:
- 16 megapixel sensor
- New shooting modes (same as the Optio VS20)
- 3 colors: red, white, black
- GPS option
- $349 MSRP with no GPS, $399 with GPS
The actual price will likely fall steeply after the camera starts shipping.
Update: the listing has since been taken down, which confirms our suspicions that this camera is real.
While this looks like an unintentional leak on the part of Adorama, the chances that the the "2" in "WG-2" is a type are quite slim, as the WG-1 has already been discontinued, and the waterproof compact lineup represents a key part of Pentax's "outdoor" camera offering.
We are looking forward to seeing an official announcement of this camera within the coming days!
