DA645 28-45mm F4.5 Lens Officially Announced

Pentax has just officially announced the HD Pentax-DA645 28-45mm F4.5 ED AW SR lens, the first DA-series zoom designed specifically for the Pentax lineup of digital medium format DSLRs.

This wide-angle zoom features in-lens stabilization, silent DC autofocus, as well as Pentax's latest optical technologies, such as HD and Super Protect front element coating and Aero Bright nano internal lens coating. It corresponds roughly to a 22-36mm lens on 35mm "full-frame", and offers a diagonal field of view of 90-62 degrees.

The new 28-45mm is now available for pre-order at B&H Photo and Adorama. In the US, it will retail for $4999.95: the same price as the DA 25mm ultra-wide lens. In the UK, it will retail for £3399.
