Pentax K-5 IIs Discontinued

Just over two years have passed since the debut of the Pentax K-5 IIs, and another two since the debut of its (virtually identical) predecessor, the K-5.  Thus, the inevitable is upon us: this acclaimed yet aging Pentax flagship has been retired by Pentax if favor of the Pentax K-3 and its future replacements.  We confirmed this news with our US retail partners earlier today.

The Pentax K-5 IIs was missing from the Ricoh's 2014-2015 product catalog at Photokina 2014, and the K-5 II had been discontinued in the US several months earlier.  Nevertheless, the K-5 IIs lingered on the shelves, giving Pentaxians an opportunity to upgrade to a powerful DSLR at a very affordable price.

B&H and Adorama have limited remaining stock of both bodies.  Free grips are no longer being offered, though free 2-day shipping is still available for US customers.
