Apple has just announced the new Apple Watch, due to be released in early 2015. The Apple Watch is so much more than a timepiece; in addition to having over 2 million ways to show you the time, it lets you stay on schedule, check messages, and even receive phone calls. It is crafted of...wait a minute, we're not an Apple site!

Alongside the WG-M1 action camera, Ricoh has just announced the new Ricoh WG watch, a rugged and sporty accessory designed for the active outdoorsman. It features LED illumination, waterproofing, and an inductive charging system that can keep watch running for up to a month. Refer to the press release and photos below for further details.

With this announcement we've learned that WG is a backronym for "The Wild Gear", as evidenced by the engravings on the front and back of the watch.

The WG Watch is not Pentax/Ricoh's first such product. In fact, in late 2012 we saw a limited-edition Pentax Q10 Watch.
