The Pentax DA* 16-50mm f/2.8 is one of the most versatile walk-around zoom lenses available for the K-Mount. The focal range spans from the wide angle to a short tele on APS-C format cameras. In addition, the star (*) denotes Pentax's high-quality, professional series of lenses. Because of these factors, an update to this lens from the previous SMC version was eagerly awaited.
In 2021, Pentax delivered with an outstanding update that included the lightning-fast PLM autofocus motor! This lens is certainly impressive and an exciting addition to the DA lineup.
