HD Pentax 16-85mm WR Now Shipping
New premium kit lens with weather sealing and silent focus

The new HD Pentax-DA 16-85mm F3.5-5.6 ED DC WR lens is slowly starting to become available worldwide. In the US, it is listed as in stock at B&H Photo and Adorama; if you live in the UK or EU, it's now also available from WEX Photographic and SRS Microsystems.

This multipurpose zoom lens is designed to be a premium alternative to the 18-55mm kit lens. It offers larger zoom range with a wider field of view at the short end and higher magnification at the long end. Additionally, this lens sports weather sealing, silent autofocus, and Pentax's premium HD lens coating, which further reduces ghosting compared to SMC coating.
We expect to receive a production copy of this lens for testing early next week, and we are eager to bring you our first impressions of its performance alongside existing lenses.
