Making Connections

A New Feature to Speed Up Response Times to Threads

By PF Staff in Site News on Sep 29, 2010

A new feature has been added to the PentaxForums that should improve our ability to help one another get useful advice, to answers to questions, to join conversations, and to show off our photos.

The next time you log on, check the top of each window for a link to Unanswered Threads. Click on the link to open a new page with a list of threads that no one has responded to yet. You can also find the Unanswered Threads link in the top menu bar. Simply click on The Latest and then move your cursor to the Unanswered Threads link. There's yet a third place to access Unanswered Threads—click on the word Forum in the menu at the top of each page. This will open drop-down menu. Scroll down and select the link.

This new feature should be a benefit to everyone, from those who post threads to other members who might have something to contribute but who would otherwise overlook an interesting topic. And it doesn't take a lot of time to scan the list of unanswered threads, so there's no reason why you shouldn't make connections to topics of interest to you, even if you're busy. So log in and join in. That's what makes the PentaxForums one of the friendliest and most helpful places on the web.

We would also invite users to enter their favorite photographs for consideration for our premier showcase, the Pentax Exclusive Gallery! To do so, click here.

Forum member posts photos from Photokina demo cameras

By PF Staff in Pentax Announcements on Sep 25, 2010

Forum members fs999 and RonHendricks1966 have just posted several sample photos from the new Pentax K-5 as well as the Pentax 645D demo models from Photokina!  Photos from the 645D are stunningly clear, while the K-5 has shown some breakthrough performance in high-iso photography.  Its ISO 12800 photos are comparable to other models' iso 1600-3200 photos, while its ISO 3200 shot barely has any grain at all!

Without a doubt, it can be said that the K-5 is going to be one of the most sophisticated DSLRs of its kind out today's market!

Pentax Camera Comparison System

PentaxForums unveils system to help users choose their next camera

By PF Staff in Site News on Sep 24, 2010

We are happy to announce the immediate availability of a new site section: the dynamic Pentax DSLR Comparisons!

Although this system is still in beta stage, meaning that it still requires some minor tweak before being officially launched, we thought we'd share it with the community as early as possible. This system allows users to quickly compare any combination of 2-8 Pentax DSLRs side-by-side.

Your feedback is welcome here! Enjoy and we hope you find this useful!
