Latest Review Posted | PENTAX auto 110 Super I got an Auto 110 Super in a job lot with some other Pentax 110 gear, and decided to keep it as my test body for Pentax 110 lenses - not to take photos, to be honest, since I use a micro 4/3 body for that, but to make sure that lenses fit properly and focus correctly.
Like the Auto 110 this has to be the brightest viewfinder I've seen on anything smaller than 35mm, and has a really nice ergonomic feel. The differences from the Auto 110 are basically built-in self-timer and lock and I believe some added functionality in metering - I can't actually test this properly since good 110 film is expensive and good processors are now as rare as unicorns and probably even more mythical.
Having now seen at least 6 or 7 of these little cameras (the others were the non-super model) I have to say that they are possibly the most reliable SLRs I've come across from this era - I think only one was DOA and unfixable, with one other needing battery contacts cleaning but OK once that was taken care of. That's a much better average than other cameras from the 70s!
