Camera Review
This was the first SLR camera I ever had, so this is pretty much a short n00b review. I am quite comfortable with the weight of the camera. It produces very nice images in cooperation with the FA 50/1.4 and FA 35/2 that I use on it. Slow AF in low light, but what camera in this class doesn't? In rapid fire mode, I can't get more than 3 or 4 RAW images in before the camera needs to stop to digest. Would be nice if it spit the images through the buffer more quickly. Or maybe that's a function of my Sandisk Ultra II.
I never had a camera with two control wheels, so I have never sat there thinking "boy it'd sure be nice if I had another dial." I get by fine without it, although I'm sure it'd be nice to have. Top LCD is very helpful. I think I would miss it if I didn't have it.
I don't care that there's no live view because I don't think I'd use it.
One thing I have coveted from other Pentax models, though, is the manual / autofocus selector options of MF / AF.S / AF.C. I have to do several button presses to switch between AF modes. Not a huge deal but it'd be much easier to do it with one click. |
