My Nikon D3100 camera got stolen after about 3 months of usage. I used the oportunnity to upgrade as-well but what an upgrade!!! I got K-50 white, new for 430 euros which is quite the minimum you can get it at right now and it's amazing in features.
One of the things I hugely appreciate about it are:
- image quality is very good and I can go up to 3200 ISO in certain situations without ending up with ugly noised photos
- 100% coverage, bright viewfinder
- batteries!! you can use normal AA batteries when you cannot find a plug to charge its own battery
- two control dials
- weather resistant
- 6fps. Action time!

100% coverage, batteries, WR and 2xdials shouldn't be available at this price according to other manufacturers. Still, not only that you get this out of it but the quality if not compromised at all.
Things I don't like:
- noisy AF motor
- the position of the rotary dial on the back should have been 1cm to the right where the finger rests
These are minor details that I easily got used to.
I only had that Nikon before so I am not the most knowledgeable person but one can easily look at the market, see what features and quality they offer and conclude that there is not actual competition for this camera in this price range. Its competition is somewhere around 800$. |
