Pros: | easy to use, fast, good IQ | Cons: | no advanced controls, no full HD video | | I bought this camera to my sister as a Christmas present 3 or 4 years ago. She is still happy using it as her main camera - all she needs is something small and tough to take pictures while skiing or swimming.
I had a chance to try contemporary Panasonic and Olympus offerings in this category. Panasonic FT-1 is very unreliable - most frequently flooded WP camera by far (friend at the camera shop told me). Olympus is at least as tough as Pentax, but IQ is worse and it was much slower.
I also tried the Nikon WP offering later, which surprised me with unreliable flash exposure. Something my sister wouldn't know how to compensate.
The images from W60 look good up to ISO 400 when viewed on a Full HD TV. That's all my sister expects from her camera and I think most compact camera customers too.
