Not much to add to the other reviews. To my mind it is the best of the AF SLRs though if you prefer a more "traditinal" onr the MZ3 may suit better.
Well built rugged and handles almost as well as the LX!

My first SLR was a KX and my wife bought it for me secondhand as an engagement present 35 years ago. It eventually needed a good service about 5 years ago but other than that it is still going strong.
It is rugged workhorse. The MX was out but I chose this as it had the mirror lock up and to my mind a better finder display. I also find the MX to small. It has been round the world several times and never faltered.
I paid for my first LX by selling the photos I had taken with this. Since then, it has taken a slight back seat to the LX but it always the backup body. It used to be much cheaper secondhand than the K1000 but not anymore. They now seem to be keeping their value like the MX.

The pros and cons have been covered by the other reviewers.
To me this was always the K mount version of the Spotmatic F. It was the middle of the line up of the first 3 cameras, The K1000 being the bayonet version of the SP1000 ie a cut down cheaper version for students.
Because of the "reputation" of the K1000 and it's longevity you could often get a better camera for about half the price.
Two points to consider. Unless it has been done in the last 20 years or so, you will need to get it serviced to be able to use it. Unless they have been replaced, the original seals will be a gooey mess and the shutter is likely to start capping.
Better than a K1000 but the KX is even better!

Although difficult to use and slow, it is a real delight to be able to use such a well made piece of work. I have both the IIA with the 3.5 lens and the Tower 22 with the 2.4.

Just to add to the review. It was marketed as bothe the Tower 23 and Tower 24 in the US. The Tower 23 had the F3.5 lens and the Tower 24 the F2.4 lens.
I have a Towere 23 which has been used as a "donor" camera to fix the other Flex's and the third version of the Towere 24 which is perhaps the least common.
