Review Date: July 10, 2018 I can recommend the Ricoh KR-30sp/XR-20sp Program: Yes | Price: None indicated | Rating: 8

Pros: Simple, straightforward settings,
Cons: Electronics fail with age, Unable to read viewfinder display in low light

I bought this camera new in 1988 to replace my Sears KS Super. It has great features, Manual mode, appature priority and Program mode using RK lenes.
Its features would put it between the Program Plus and Super Program in the Pentax line, but Ricoh went with a more straightforward design for the controls.
The viewfinder display was easy to read in bright sunlight, it uses LCD's but It depends on a small translucent window next to the Mirror box for the back light, the only other light was by using the AE lock button.

Most of these camers were sold with a free Power Grip, and mine was no exception.

My original camera failed when the LCD totally faded out and became unreadable after about 10 years. I have purchased several on the used market along with its big brother the XR-P and have had some of them just die, mid roll with fresh batteries, never to take a picture again.
