Pros: | 360°, compact, nice design | Cons: | Beeping (shutter sound) can not be turned off..., No 2 or 5 second timer, low MP | | I just bought it for fun and to capture some cool images you otherwise would need to stitch in Photoshop.
i did not have any expectations...:-) i have it now for 4 days...
the capturing beep (shutter sound ) can not be turned off or changed to another sound nor can the volume be reduced! that really sucks... as everybody will look around and wants to find out where this strange sound came from... i personally don't like it..
Maybe this is part of the marketing strategy so that people are getting aware of the theta...
there is one thing missing a self-timer! you can not place the theta somewhere and run away or hide.... you can do it with a work around and using the app on your smart phone. if you want to bring yourself in an other position and you just press the remote in the app this leads to ---> always staring at your phone in the picture, or your phone underway to your pocket..... the interval shooting can solve that to some extent but you have to take at least two pictures to my knowledge...
i will be updating this review as soon as i have some more experience out in the field.
Im using the HTC One M8 Dual Sim - Android version
Edit: to get rid of the annoying shutter sound you will need to download the ThetaZero app and if it is just for this purpose it is worth it! find attached the link to the app in the play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmail.nagamatu.theta0
just klick the speaker symbol and your theta will be silent even when using the native ricoh app or the button on the theta it self!
with this i can rate the theta a 7 where with the sound i have given the rating of a 6 | |
