The KS Auto was a relabeled Ricoh XR-2s and was sold by Sears from c.1979-81. Introduced a year after the KS 500 and KS 1000, the KS Auto was Sears' third K mount SLR. It was initially bundled with a 50mm f/1.4 lens, and later came standard with a 50mm f/1.7. Both 50s were Ricoh XR Rikenon lenses relabled as Auto Sears.

Automatic aperture preferred exposure with manual override. CdS cell meter measures light as it passes through the lens.
