Pentax DA 15mm question

Hi guys,
I'm thinking to buy Pentax DA 15mm lens. I like the small size of it, lack of distortion, also flares seems to be quite good controled (my opinion from reviews and sample pictures).
But there is one thing which is worried me. I have DA 16-50mm and if buy DA 15mm, do I "benefit" from it?
I take landscape pictures mostly.

DA15: advantages
the size (about 40cm in long),
the weight (212g),
smaller filter
better flare control,
built & design

16-50: advantages
speed (f2.8)

I went through the same and went ahead and got it.

I too were using my 16-50 quite a lot and have found that the 15mm comes in very handy and I am now using it more and more.

In situations where I think the zoom would be better I use it but for all landscapes its the 15mm for me and its wonderful to have such a light setup when outdoors

I intend to buy the 15mm soon despite owning the 16-50mm. On my last job, the zoom ring on the 16-50mm jammed. I can't rely on it and need prime backups that will work. I already have primes in 28, 35, and 50. Just need the 15 and the 21. The 16-50 is lovely -- when it works.

I went though something simular to your question, only mine was with the DA12-24 and the 15LTD. When I got the 12-24 I had gone though a lot of reviews and posts before buying the it. On a major landscape shoot I took it out with my 40ltd and 70 ltd. I love the images from the 12-24, but there was just that extra something with many of the 40 and 70 ltd images. Call it the "pixie dust" effect that other have mentioned when discribing there LTD lenses. More presence and a bit more of a 3-D look.
I just got the 15ltd and the first shots confirm what I have read here on this forum....I love it. For me the size is nice, but not the main thing. I would haul around a three pound lens if I thought it would help me produce better photographs........................................
You may need to compare it side by side with your 16-50 and make your own comparison if you can. I have never owned the 16-50.
Hopes this helps..........

Whenever I talk about the DA15, I keep omitting the "Pixie Dust" because I don't know how to quantify it. I will say this, the first time I pressed the shutter behind the DA15, I got a shot that grabbed me. I don't know if it was the color or what, but it just stood out among an SD card full of shots with the excellent DA17-70.

Went through the same thing, end up keeping both. They are just for different purposes. But one thing for sure, I use the DA15 a lot more often. It'd be in my bag whenever I go out shooting around.
