Hi,
Can any one telll me the diff b/w DA 55-300MM & DAL 55-300MM.
I saw K-x With 2 kit lens at amazon where they have mentioned DA 55-300mm and Same 2kit lens pacakge at b & H offering DA L 55-300mm. Can any tell me which offer is better one??

They have the same optical formula, but, unlike the first and more expensive version, the DA L has plastic mount, no hood, no quick shift.

Essentially what causey said, the difference between the two is the same as the difference between the DA-L 18-55mm kit lens and the DA 18-55mm II lens -- pretty much the same thing, just minus some "bonus" features.

It might well be missing the distance markings as well.

PS an original Pentax lenshood costs you around US$60. Something to keep in mind. I assume that the one for the DA fits.

Yes cost of hood is quite awful, but you can find them used sometimes to make it more palatable.

I think I paid around $10 or $15 for my 1855 hood, now at $17 on KEH.
