Learn about Pentax lens series/features

Ole and I have written an article which explains the difference between all the Pentax lens series (DA, FA, A, etc.), located here: Pentax K-Mount Lenses Explained

It has recently been updated with new information and improvements. I hope you find it helpful!

Should be very good for newcomers, would do well if posted as a sticky somewhere in related forums.

Also needs just a bit of proofreading "AL stabds for Aspherical" etc..

Great piece of work, Adam and Ole

I just completed one round of it and find the information on compatibility most useful

Thank you so much :ugh:

A very nice guide, that nicely sums up everything needed to know.

If I may add something:
For consistency, I suggest referring to the M section when describing the operation of a K lens (as for F). Also, adding which lens series that are P-TTL compatible would be nice, as flash operation with M/K lenses are fully manual (as you well know).

I forwarded that to Ole after I posted this thread. It should be fixed.

Done (avoding the redundancy in the explanation of K lenses).

Good suggestion to mention flash compatibility.

It needs some study first - I suspect that there were some DSLRs that wouldn't do P-TTL even with A lenses, or perhaps my memory fails me?
