FA 80-320mm auto setting not working

I have an FA80-320 which I bought in 1998 and for some reason unknown to me the auto setting doesn't work. Anyone have any idea why and if anything can be done to fix it?

Sorry, I can't help you in fixing the problem. All I can say is try to clean the contacts and see.

However, don't spend a ton on repairs....you can get one in great condition for US$100-150, and I paid even less than that lower end.

From what I remember the A setting is the weak link for this lens. The contact right under the lens mount broke. Should be an easy fix with the lens mount removed.

Yes, from a past thread it seems the contact springs on this lens are very weak and will have to be replaced. Not such a probem after all then. thanks.
