Sigma 70-300 or Tamron 70-300??!!

Hello! I want to buy my first tele lenses, not to spent much money on it for now...

"whats the best"?!

Sigma 70-300mm f/4,0-5,6 DG APO Macro

OR

Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro 1:2

?! the best to match K10D... for now i haven't seen Pentax lens that compete as this price range.. and the 50-200 is not very good compared to this 2...

Thanks a lot,
JDS

Beside not have the maco ability as on the Sigma and the Tamron, the Pentax 75-300mm is in about the same price range.

Pentax smc P-FA 75-300mm f/4.5-5.8 AL (Black) - Telephoto Auto Focus Zoom Lens |BuyDig.com

But I don't know which lense out of the 2 is better.

After reading some reviews on the two on the net, it seems you can't really go wrong with either. They are both very similar, perform very similar. If this is only a stopgap, then go for the cheapest in your area. I am sure you would be happy with either.

My father just bought the Tamron. He felt if felt better on his K10D with a slightly better balancing (This is so subjective that I urge you to try both lenses on your camera and make a decision from there).

Choose one:
- sharper lens w/ CA issues sometimes (Tamron)
- less sharp w/ much less CA issues (Sigma)

You can't have both at this price point (hopefully the DA50-250 will be better and be reasonably priced)...

Will that one be based as well on an existing Tokina version for another mount? anyone know?

The tokina and the new pentax DA50-250 is built from the same base, but pentax is adding the SDM and onother pentax options...
