Pentax SMC 18-55mm DA AL

or Pentax SMC 18-55mm DA AL ll. Which one is better? I can buy the AL version for about $20 less than the AL ll, but would the AL ll be a better lens? What does it mean by AL ll?

The version II of the kit lens is a little sharper edge to edge than the original version. I would think it would be worth it to get it versus the previous version. Probably not so noticeable on cameras prior to the K10, but particularly when pixel peeping, the difference can be seen between the two versions pretty clearly.

Thanks Rondec. I'll get the AL ll then. It's only $89, the other was $64.

For more info, see the sticky thread at the top of this forum on the differences between the various 18-55's. But indeed, the bottom line is that the new versins are better.

EDIT: Sorry, Marc, I looked at the wrong sticky before. Now I see the correct one and the differences.
