Hi all, I have an announcement to make.

After a serious consideration and my better half's approval I decided to realise my dream. Unfortunately it will require to painfuly part with all my photographic gear of which the majority don't get much use anyway. For those interested I put all my equipment for sale here: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/photographic-equipment-sale/103546-sale-s...nses-more.html
Good luck!

What are the lenses you are thinking of getting for the M-mount?

"50mm Summilux and 28mm Elmarit."

good choice on the summilux. though, you might also want to consider the 75mm summarit - it gives the FA77 a real run for it's money.. if you haven't already ordered, that is.

I can't help my self when I look at images taken with Leica lenses. The colors the unique warmth cast, the image detail in every level. Qualities that even my beloved FA Limiteds can't match.
On many occasions I was seeing myself selling every lens and camera I have in order to fund for a Leica M8.2 (or maybe M9).
I feel sometimes that I get confused by having too many lenses. With Leica I would probably have only three (wide, standard and short tele), and it would be enough. It will give me a small and light package with superb quality and less confusion with lenses.

I was wondering is there anyone else on this forum having similar thoughts?
Have you checked out this store? They are very good and I have bought a few Pentax items from them.

Thanks Phil,

I read somewhere else people writing with good feedback about Leica Shop in Viena. The prices are great in comparison to other shops. I will contact them to see if they have the stuff I need in stock.

Thanks,

Voe

yep, there is a nice shop here (vienna, AUSTRIA) but I'm not sure prices would be 'greater'.
USA seems cheaper for us (with euro/dollars rate, however this is changing recently).
Dont know what are prices in Australia.
There's also a good second hand Leica shop nearby.

I've been also dreaming about leica but I'll wait untill M9 prices drops down

With the body that I looked at being ~ $23K and the lenses at $5-10K, it will remain a dream (or a nighmare.)

That's kind of why I wanted to see, in my hands, what the fuss is all about. If there was one in a Pentax mount, I would like to be able to try (... and maybe buy if the price is right).

You are right... no brand new len$ for me.

In US the Leica M9 body costs $7K not $23K. The price of lenses vary roughly between $2K-$10K. Cheaper on the used market.

just beside the official leica shop, there s a second hand camera shop with a lot of leica stuff. That's where I would go to find second hand leica lenses here.

Actually, I'm not talking about a rangefinder body but the S2. The body is $22,995 shipped from BH.

Oh, I see. Just to avoid any further misunderstandings I'm not moving to Leica S2 but to Leica M9. This is what this thread is about.

Cheers,

Yeah, I know you were looking at the RF bodies. Shouldn't this thread be in the 'Off Brand" forum? Hysterical
