Yeah, I know you were looking at the RF bodies. Shouldn't this thread be in the 'Off Brand" forum? :Hysterical:
Maybe it should if it bothers you. You are most welcome to talk to the forum moderator if you don't want this thread here.

Sharing my first photos with the 35mm Summilux ASPH v.2

It's been a long time since my last post in this thread but I am happy that finally my dream of having both the 35mm and and 50mm Summilux Asph. came thrue.

Two days ago I got a missed call from the shop where I ordered the new 35mm Summilux. When I called back on the next day they told me the lens has arrived.
Oh, what a joy!! I was speeding on the freeway, because I was so excited, and could wait to see it, when a police stopped me and asked my why I was speeding. Aplogeticaly I explained why and the police let me go with just a warning. Wow! I couldn't believe it.

After I got the lens I went to Townsville (a suburb of Melbourne) to take photos some photos and these bellow are my first meaningfull ones (apart the ones I took while waiting in a traffic jam):

The photo bellow is the only one I played with in Lightroom. All the rest are just exports from RAW all taken at f/1.4.

L1048258

For those who like to pixelpeep I can provide RAW or full size photos.

I was very happy with the 31mm Limited, but this one excites me even more. If anyone in Melbourne (Australia) who has the 31mm is willing to do a comparison with the Leica 35mm feel free to send me a PM.

I sold all my lenses and went to 31, 50, 77 under a similar theory.

It doesn't stop LBA. You'll still want other lenses. There is no cure.
Yes there is. Its called death.

I think you have a front focus problem.

I will be moving to Melbourne early next year. Though I will tell you that in my own testing the FA31mm f/1.8 comfortably holds it's own against the Summilux 2nd gen and Summicron 4th and 3rd generations. Thanks to my Leica M9 and a Novoflex Leica-M to Pentax-K mount adapter, I was able to produce an un-scientific but reasonably accurate comparison between the lenses.I also own a Pentax 43mm f/1.9 Special in Leica thread mount, which puts in an impressive performance when compared to the Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH - in fact, the Pentax 43mm f/1.9 is substantially more resistant to flare than the Leica lens. between the two Resolution and contrast are equal at f/4, though the pentax lens produces colours that are a tad warmer than the Leica lens.
