1.2 is something quite different and I guarantee you will have a lot of fun with it, not to mention that besides being really fast it is also a really good lens in other respects.

If you get that filter ring fixed it was one hell of a deal you made!

congrats!
It's a great catch for that price IMO.
It's the later version of the K series but the difference is cosmetic only. I'm sure you'll love this lens. It's very capable and very usable even at f1.2 IMO.
Keep us posted with some pics...

that was a portrait of mine at f/1.2...My photography teachers envy my lens collection. Though I had to REALLY drop the power level on the flash heads as far as I could.

cautionary tale: you will be more inclined to do crazy things with f/1.2 lenses, things that you couldn't do with an f/1.7 lens. Seriously, f/1.2 lenses are addictive.

Awesome shot! I was actually just looking at it in the F/1.2 thread. I almost never ventured in there because I was constantly trying to convince myself my M 50mm was enough.

Im pretty excited. I was high-fiving every person around me when I won it

Thanks. To be completely honest though, I wasn't even looking for this lens. I was looking for 28mm F/3.5's on old pentax bodies. As I was searching I saw this for $30 and decided to watch it just to see how high it would go up. Sure enough it stopped at $188 so in the last second i threw in $250 and won it for $222

Good luck in your search though!

hopefully I come across a nice one ... doesn't need to be a K or A version ... I'd be happy with the Porst or Cosina or Tomioka f/1.2 version of the lens (50 or 55mm .... I don't mind)

CONGRATS! That's not an easy find. Looking forward to seeing your results, Yeatz!

f/1.2 puts you into a kind of magical, crazy netherworld (from the Cosina @ 1.2 )
