I was going to get the Sigma 17-70 (non-OS) but, this came up on Craig's List and I couldn't resist. It's in mint condition visually and operates fine from what I've experienced so far. It's not as front heavy as it looks!

Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro on the K-x

Its a fantastic lens- much better than the stock 17-70, and similar to the Pentax FA*.

I agree Adam and it's what I was really after, a constant f/2.8 with a bit more reach than the kit. The wide end is perfect for me as well, very little distortion on an APS-C. The Sigma 17-70 is a great price but, the f/2.8 doesn't last long (I think it ends at the 22mm mark, correct me if I'm wrong).
