Takumar 35mm 3.5f on K-7

Hello guys

I am currently using the 50mm 1.4f for some street photos and portraits but recently saw the takumar lens on bargain and wondered if it would be nice to have ?
Does anyone try this lens on a k-7 ? what will be the differences with the 50mm other than be slighly wider and aperture wise ?
will I be just wasting my money ?

Any help appreciated

Which version is it? I've got an Auto-Takumar 3.5/35mm and it's an amazing little lens. It's actually my smallest lens (46mm filter thread and really tiny) and even without SMC it can produce excellent images

The super-takumar version is also nice. It's really small and light. Recommended all the way if you can find it at less than ¥6000. The norm is around ¥5000 and if you're lucky you can get it here for around ¥3500. If it's even less, buy it if you think you want it.

My only regret is that this could be faster (there's also a 35/2 for that reason but too big in takumar flavor.).

It's still a good price. By the way, have a look at the yahoo auctions (LBA warning) for japan, they have some really good bargains around.
For example, this one: Z6283?PENTAX SPOTOMATIC SP ????????Takumar1?3.5/35 - Yahoo!??????

CBA in action?

I've seen quite a lot of 28/3.5 and 35/3.5 for sale around here. Must have produced a lot of those along with the 50's.

I'm tempted to bid on a Me Super to photography 101. Did you ever get your MX serviced?

I've got some Takumar (including the 35) that I could lend you if you want to try them for a while. PM me if you're interested.

Don't tell me about CBA, I've got now 4 screwmount cameras(Two in working order) plus the two MX. But sometimes it's cheaper to buy a (broken) camera with a working lens. This way I got the 35/3.5 with a (surprisingly) "recently" CLA'd Spottie for $30.
The broken MX is sadly still broken, and will be for a while. The CLA service here is $155 for the "all-around store" and $180 for the "pentax mostly" service store. Eric on the other hand would service it for $120 including return shipping, even with shipping it's cheaper. Now I only need to get the money

BTW, there's a ME (non-super) for $20 with a M 50/1.7 but the lens has fungus. i don't remember the state of the camera.

I have the Super-Takumar version and it's my smallest lens - I love it. I pay for it 30 euro at a camera flea market in Hamburg. Here are some examples with the K10D - it can't be worst on the K-7

Cheers

Dani
