Recently thinking replace my kit lens to 17-70. As I know, all SDM lenses using ED glass for better color rendering except this one.

Anyone has idea? Thanks

Perhaps because they were able to get the image quality they needed without reverting to ED glass.
I used the 17-70 for a few days just after it's release and found no issues with it's colour rendering, nor have I heard of any complaints with the way it renders colour.
I believe ED glass is used primarily to help control certain optical aberrations, and has little, if anything, to do with colour rending.
