No one mentioned that it has an advantage over his opponents = 9 aperture blades (beautiful)

i thought about this lens, but then saw that i could pick up the Pentax 100mmWR for not much more than the tamron

weathersealing, LTD style aluminium body etc made the pentax a complete no brainer buy.

Myabe it's a nobrainer to you, when i bought mine there wasn't much to choose between. But as DaniRo said tamron has 9 blades compared to pentax 8, and the tamron is regarded as one heck of a lens, no wr though.

@Ira Love the color rendition on the third image.
@thosan, there was a decision for me, but at the time the Pentax WR was fresh out of the gates and was almost 450 more.

Alas that I cant find a FA* 200 macro for a reasonable price.

The only limitation for this lens is your imagination!

Thanks, but I cheated:

I never up color saturation at all in PP, but for this one, I went nuts because I thought it worked here.

I recently got the Tamron 90, and only had the chance to use it a few times. Although I just got back from an almost-2500 mile vacation, I never used the lens, as it was mostly landscape/people/architecture.

But I wanted to say is a (surprisingly) very light lens - I think the lightest in the bag...:-)

shang, this lens is frequently up for sale used at KEH, Adorama (used equipment) and here. I bought my copy used, IIRC I paid about $300 for it at KEH about 4 years or so ago. So it can be found for a relatively low price.
