I wanted to keep one fancy lens that I wouldn't have been able to afford otherwise...the 31/1.8. I've wanted that one ever since I switched over from Minolta years ago and sold my then coveted 35/1.4. This silver fox is messing up all my best laid plans.
Silver fox? Uh oh. You've named it!

The FA limiteds are all incredible. Trouble is, if you keep two, you might end up wanting the third (and my favourite).

lol If OP have already name it then it would be hard for him to sell it.

I have absolutely no idea how rare it is. The posts said serial numbers below 20,000 have the original, brighter coating, but I guess that doesn't mean they actually manufactured 20,000 units...or does it?

From seeing some of the amazing images on this forum from owners of the FA43Ltd ... I'd say keep it and give it a run ..... see what it produces.

If you don't feel like using it or selling it ... you can send it to me for further extensive testing

I'd love an FA31Ltd as well ... but I highly doubt I'll get the chance ... I'll have more change of owning a DA35Ltd instead though.

After some serious consideration I think I'm going to let this lens go. 43mm just doesn't excite me on APS-C, and if I'm going to keep any lens it's going to be the 31/1.8.

I'll either list this in the marketplace or send it to ebay...I'd like to list it here but have no idea what it's worth, given the early serial number, so I may just have to let the market determine the price.

I'll be sad to let it go, but the temptation to keep the 31mm is too great. I apologize that I didn't offer it up again here on the marketplace, but I really don't have a sense of the value, so I thought I should let the market determine the price...hence the no reserve auction.

That's probably the best move for you, though I'm sure there were people already selling blood to get it while it was in the marketplaces Hope you do well on it!

It, and the FA50/1.7, and the FA135/2.8 (along with the FA31, of course).

Get rid of some Takumars instead !!

Hmm, am I guilty of heresy by suggesting this ?

Yes. Guilty. Heresy. I shed tears on the way to the post office.
