Crazy small world, ain't it?

I'm shooting Sony now with a mix of my old Pentax and Voigtländer glass, but got an email notification on this post from 2010

Back story, on the 43mm - I worked in the Cayman Islands for a while, and after leaving my job there and returning to Canada to strike out on my own, I remembered a store on the island had some NOS glass. I emailed and asked them to give me a good price on all of their dusty lenses and ship them up. Since I was self (un)employed at the time, and had to sell all but one of the lenses to break even.

I still buy and sell lenses for fun and still cry on the way to the post office

I see in the S/N DB that member SteveM from Victoria, Canada used to own that lens. (0003983)

Interesting history.

The serial number of my FA43 is in the low 2000's.

Compared to my first FA43 (also MIJ but much higher SN), it did indeed appear to have a slightly different colour when looking through it, but there was no discernible difference in image quality. I kept the current one because old, and silver

Kamerastore.com has several of these 43mm on sale (even an L-mount version) and they had a singles day discount yesterday.
Although I'm married they still let me use the promo code .

Since they are all the same price, I decided to go for this MIJ silver one that had the pouch and original box included.
Only stumbled onto the SN on this site afterwards.

Optical condition was rated 4/5, along with the mechanical condition.
Cosmetic condition was at 3/5 so it seems SteveM gave this lens some good use from when it was picked up NOS from the Cayman Islands .

My curiosity got the better of me and asked him if there was a specific reason he got rid of it.
Wonder how it ended up in Finland!

Nothing against Finland
Just interesting trajectory. From the Cayman Islands to Canada to Finland. And soon Belgium ;-).

The plot thickens!

I bought a lens from SteveM years ago and it was in perfect condition. He was a collector/shooter and took care of his gear.

I have also bought from this camera store in Finland and I also had no issues.

You should end up with a very nice Fa43/1.9.
