K10D & Pentax-A 50mm 1:1.7 Lens

New User here; greetings to everyone.

I will be purchasing the K10D soon. I currently own the Pentax p3N Film SLR which has the SMC Pentax-A 50mm 1:1.7 Lens. I want to use the 50mm lens on the new K10D, etc. The p3N has a KA mount. If this is a manual lens, what features/modes/auto will work (or not work) with this combo??

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

Your lens will work in all modes. No autofocus, of course, but that's the only difference from, say, a Pentax-DA lens. You must leave the aperture ring on "A" and control the aperture from the camera.

The angle of view will be more narrow than on your film camera. The angle of view will correspond to what you would get with a 75mm lens on your film camera.

Thank you very much for that info and the message regarding the proper place to post, etc.
