The end of my LBA

Well, I suppose it is sort of like smoking cessation.

But today (actually few days ago), I have decided to stop buying lenses period.

It is not because it is getting out of control. It is not that I am running out of storage place, as I don't have that many. I now only have 16 lenses, down from 19. This is nothing compared to what some of you happen to have.

The reason for this nonsense is that I am going to buy a 645D in the future. I am thinking 6 months to 18 months from now I will have it. Theoretically I can get it now, but that would compel me to sell many more of the lenses I already have. I don't want to do that.

I have a K-7 now, and if and when the k-7 replacement comes out, or if FF comes out ever, I will pass on both of them. I will keep my K-7, because I feel that K-7 is one of the best DSLR/APS-C cameras out there (for me anyway). I think it is way under-rated. Therefore I will keep all of my current possessions.

I think that the future of DSLR is MF. Eventually, I think that all DSLR will be set up like Leica S2; a huge sensor in a reasonably small body.

Sorry, guys, another useless thread by me, but I needed to post it so that it is well documented. In fact, I am going to bookmark this thread and make it a default on my PC.

Wish me luck please.

Best of luck to you. I, for one, am looking forward to some 645D shots from you.

EDIT: BTW, does this not mean that you are going from one kind of LBA to another?

Thank you.

When (not if) I get it, I will make sure to post my lame pictures. I am sure that there will be members here who will be very irritated by the fact that a poor shooter like me is getting a hold of a beast. Thank you Lord for capitalism, I guess.

Well, I am sure that there is real pathology here. I know I am ill. I am not sure what to call it yet. Perhaps if I came up with a term as good as LBA, maybe Ned will spot me a 645D (doubt it).

645Diction, or MFA, or something like that.

I thought you found the cure.

But you've just switched from LBA to CBA. For now. And then once you buy the mythical 645D, you'll need something to mount on the front, no?

Ah, thank you for your support, dude. You are not making it easy on me here. What if a pristine copy of an A*85 shows up on market place for under $1,000?

I know I know, I need something to mount on that thing. But I will get the D FA 55 to begin with. I do want something like 35 and 120 macro, or something like that. Yes, I think my LBA will resume once I get the body, but until then . . . . . .

I am looking at the calender here, and I see that the father's day is coming up. I am a father, not sure how good, but I wonder if I can get an one time exemption for that day.

God, I am weak. I need 85mm. No I don't.

I need to start a thread called " LBA Anonymous" where people like myself who has tremendous guilt can make confessions without spouses finding out about it.

This is not the end. The lenses will call your name. Hide from them all you want, they will find you. They will haunt you in your dreams. You will think about them while doing the most mundane things. Out walking the dog? Maybe you should go look at that 50mm on eBay that you saw last night instead. The shiny glass. The nice colorful coating. The way they feel in your hands. The curiosity behind shooting with a lens you have never used before. The good reviews over them will drive you mad. Oh, what's that? Mint condition, and it's $90 cheaper than new? BUY IT NOW!!!! They will seek you out, and you will buy them. You have to have them, and they have to be in your posession.

This is imminent.

don't ask me how I know.....

This is very funny. I don't have a budget worth mentioning (which may be good thing???) but I already have quite a few cheap manual lenses now.

I read somewhere that you need to quit using the internet (or least get locked out of Pentax Fourms) to finally kick a LBA.

It could well be that the day I buy 645D just may mark the end of my marriage . . . .

But then again, my wife would think that I would have no money left for child support. So I just may get away with that. Wait, there was one other way she can torture me . . . .

Quit using the internet???

I am not sure I can fight two separate addictions at the same time. I am already going through withdrawals.

I did cancel my "bill me later" account.

PENTAX 120MM 4.0 MACRO SMCP-FA for 645N 645 - MINTY!! - eBay (item 230485073061 end time Jun-14-10 18:09:57 PDT)

Damn. It has not been even 24 hours since I posted this thread. Just barely over 12 hours. This is getting hard. Very hard. I mean pathetic. Maybe I should make exception for 645 lenses. What if I made 10 easy payments??

Is this a good deal? Maybe I should make exception for good deals and mint ones like it has been mentioned.

NOOOOOOO!!

Somebody help me please.
