DA21mm + K10D, a bad combo?

I own a K10D and I'm looking into buying a DA21. Doing some searches I came across a few posts that mentioned the DA21 performs poorly on a K10D. However, all the pictures in these posts had already disappeared off of the internet.

What exactly is the problem, and, is it common?

Never heard of this. The DA21 is an amazing lens, and the K10D is a great camera. There's no reason they should not work together. Just to be on the safe side, make sure you have the latest firmware on the K10D.

from memory the k10d and DA21 combo had focus issues. Focus adjustment in later models solved the problem, as did some "special" firmware.

I had that combo and it was excellent. If there is a problem then the problem doesn't affect everybody.

Yeah I had that problem. It would backfocus on my K10D, particularly at wider apertures, which is where it mattered. At f/5.6 and above it would refocus and then it was fine. Using it as a general walkaround where focus wasn't that critical, there was no issue.

Being able to calibrate focus by individual lens was one reason I got a k-7. But what do you know? On the K-7 all my lenses focused perfectly, including the DA21. After that was stolen I downgraded for cash reasons to a K-X. No probs with that either.

Some other people reported the same problem on DPR; others had no problem. There were various theories but no convincing explanations.

Thanks for the replies. I came across a good offer on a DA15 and went with that one instead
