Hi,

I just wanted to start this thread for fun...and I would like to see if others are in my situation.

So how do you justify your lens purchases when your better half isn't all that interested in photography and certainly not in the cost of maintaining the hobby?

I am getting a DA40 limited but only after a lot of persuasion. Am I the only one with this problem? How do you all get your better half to go along?
I say: "I want a new lens, it's this one here".
Generally, she picks it up on her way home after work the next day.

Seriously though, we both have our vices. I'm a lens junky, she buys $10.00 a pack cigarettes.
When she quits smoking, I'll start feeling I need to justify camera equipment purchases.

It's pretty simple here. My wife said, "Whatever you want to do with your lenses is fine with me." I don't abuse the privilege.

"Second, she is an absolute SHOE FANATIC!"

I hear you, My girlfriend buys a new pair of shoes for every lens I buy...fortunately, that isn't all that often any more since I have pretty much every lens I could possibly need.

Her: Wow, it cost how much?
You: I could be hanging out in bars drinking and smoking.
Conversation ends.

I never thought of it that way, but if it works for both of us, COOL!
