I have them both. I like the FA43 better than the DA35, but I'm shooting almost entirely film now. The DA35mm focuses quite a bit faster than the FA43 on both my k10D and MZ-S. They are both sharp lenses, but my 43 is wowza sharp. Again this is on film, I've only shot the 43 on my digital a handful of times so can't say how it behaves there. The DA35mm is very nice, but without an aperture ring, it's a pain to use on the MZ-S. The DA35 is very nice for closeups, but is too short for bugs and such. At 5ft to infinity, I'd pick the 43 every time. I'll be selling my DA35 very soon if you're interested.
