Lenses I got at a garage sale today

Sears 28mm macro f2.8
Sears 135mm macro f2.8
Sears 50mm 2.0

total paid $10

I have gotten to work on my K-x but don't know if I should keep or sell them. I hope they were a good find. Seems to be good for just $10.

Wow, a 28mm macro? Is that correct?

As for the Sears, Roebuck and Co. lens trio, what the hay, give them a try. A person could shoot with them for a month and then give them away with only $10 for the expense.

The Sears 135 is actually my favourite 135 and I have the M 135/3.5! It has a very nice character and the A settings. But beware, there might be a problem with a so - called ricoh pin. Google up what it is and how to get rid of it. It may cause the inability to mount or dismount the lens and you don't want that. The operation is fortunately rather simple...took me five minutes.

The 28mm says Macro on the side of it just above the focus ring in green. I don't really know what it means, however.

The sears macro just means it is close focus, not that it will actually reach anything close to 1:2 magnification.

The Sears 28 and 135 macros are re-branded lenses by quality manufacturers and excellent bargains.

If you have the patience to work with non-AF/AE lenses you'll find these two to be keepers for macro at 1/100th of the new price of the modern equivalent AF/AE lenses.

Both work well with extension rings for true macro.

Any suggestions on what to buy for the extension rings (anyone with links)?
