FA 50 f/1.4 arrived, 1st 5 pictures

My FA 50 f/1.4 arrives on Wednesday and only until today I took first
5 snapshots from it. My lens comes to some closure for me in looking for an indoor portrait lens

Hin's Tech Corner: Pentax Protrait Lens

My initial impressions with snapshots are quite pleasing. The DOF are amazing to look in the photos. I will try portraits at home later on, so far it is a blast to say the least.

So far, I am blown away from this lens. The DOF as well as color, speed as in fast lens using f/2.0 really impress me on the first five pictures that I took out of the packaged box. Images has no pp of any kind.

I have the older A50 and its a great lens. Its pretty good at 1.4 and sharpens up well as you stop down to f2 and then f2.8.

Great first impressions! Look forward to seeing more of your photos!

Thank you Pete

And I put in a blog post for my impressions on SMC FA 50mm f/1.4

Hin's Tech Corner: Pentax SMC FA 50 f/1.4 Test Shots

Thank you all for the tips and support in helping me getting this for indoor portrait lens. I still think of the FA 35 f/2.0 from time to time, I may try to find a manual one if there is such a thing for the focal length at 35mm or 85mm in the future.

Thank you,
Hin

You can probably find a Mir-24K if you are lucky. Russian 35/2. I have a Helios-44K-4 58/2 and it works wonders...so much so I find myself using it waaay more than my A50/1.4. (Despite the A50 probably being a tad better in the optics dept.)

Just remember though, 35mm = an equivalent 52mm view...pretty standard view. Keep using your Kit 18-55 and 50-200 and see which focal lengths you tend to favour/use more often and then re-evaluate your LBA :P
