I ordered my copy from B&H on the Web page on Sunday night and received the shipping confirmation on Monday morning. So it does appear to be in stock. I'm sure that it is the DA* lens (since there has never been any other Pentax 50-135mm f2.8 ED SDM lens), but I will have it in hand in 4 days to make sure.

I have always had a positive experience in dealing with B&H so I can recommend then without hesitation. I haven't had any defective merchandise from them, but I have had a return for something where I changed my mind and I had no problem at all in getting an RMA and getting the credit after the return.

ehhm..?! how much lower is the selling price?! It says here 999.95, so I guess whoever mentioned 799.00 got a very good deal somehow...

It was 799 for a few days. I was going to order mine tonight, but I guess I can wait now for the extra 200..

Holy price inflation! I got mine for $799.00 from B&H on Saturday night! Hopefully that price will return. the lens Pentax should discount is the DA *16-50! For a while the 50-135 was selling for less than the 16-50.

Whew! That was close. I ordered on Monday morning when I saw it was in stock.
Somewhat confused when I didn't get a ship confirmation Monday evening but this
afternoon it came though and still at the lower price.

I think the $799 might have either been an error or a marketing gimmick in an attempt to push as many 50-135's out there as possible initially to spur some interest, spark sales and get the reviews pouring out. Kinda sucks that the price went back up to $999.99, I may just have to make a trip down to B&H seeing as I checked with a retailer I deal with in Toronto and they quoted me close to $1300 CDN for the 50-135 (ouch!).

Well, right now I'm kicking myself. I posted this thread. I thought it was the normal price. I was gonna wait until this weekend to make my order but now I'll have to wait. I cant justify the added $200.00
Actually, I couldnt justify the cost of the lens period but now even more so.

Well Henry, It seems that you may work at B&H? Is the old price still available? or is the new price going to be the actual price?
