Here we go again...

I finally decide to go with 2 systems, keeping my K-7(WILL upgrade if the new one comes out) and FA 31mm lt., FA77mm lt., FA* 85mm/1.4(in the process of getting one), D-FA 100mm Macro WR; and getting the Nikon D700 or the replacement of D700 with Sigma 120-300mm f2.8...

What do yall think if I should sell some of my gear on here or on Ebay? not a huge fan of Ebay right now, although I used to sell a lot of stuff on Ebay(210 feedbacks with 100%).

As soon as I get back from my vacation on July 14th., I'd be getting rid of some of my gears... here is a little list, any of yall are interested, keep me in mind.

The listing would be:
Sigma 100-300mm F4 EX DG APO
Pentax FA* 80-200mm/2.8
Pentax FA* 28-70mm/2.8(debating if I should list it or NOT; if I don't sell this one, I will definitely let 100mm/2.8 Macro WR go)
Pentax DA* 16-50mm/2.8
Pentax DA 10-17mm fisheye

Let me know if it would be a good idea...

Sounds like a fun plan, but is there a reason why you'd want both the FA 77ltd and the FA* 85 1.4 in Pentax mount? They serve pretty much the same function, and I'll bet you'd be hard-pressed to say which one you prefer when you looked at images from both.

If I were you, I'd keep the 77ltd and put the FA* 85 1.4 money towards some Nikon glass. For around the same price of that FA 85, you could probably get the Nikon 85 1.8 AF-D + 180 2.8 AF-N (used) + 300 f4 AF (used) which would make a smaller prime kit with better IQ than that Sigma zoom (although the Sigma zoom is nice for convenience's sake.)

Or, put the FA 85 1.4 money towards the DA 15ltd and FA 43ltd (for example) to round out your Pentax prime kit.

Luke, the advantage of selling here is a sure market of keen Pentax enthusiasts, selling for free (seeing as though you're already a site supporter) and setting your price.

As for whether you should go with two systems, this is your decision - you seem to be well endowed enough to afford it, so I don't think you'd have many here discouraging you going this route - the D700 is a fine camera.

Nice collection of Pentax glass too, by the way.

Decision, decision, decision; I love the size of the 77mm lt.(mine is made in Japan), but I just had the chance to use the FA* 85mm/1.4, definitely a lovely lens as well... I am going to have to decide which one to keep eventually.

Neither will be offered for sale.....

FA* zooms are worthless, I'll give you $10 for the pair ;-)

with the exception of 300mmat F2.8 you have everything covered that the nikon and the sigma zoom would offer. Why not just buy a sigma 300F2.8 or a used FA300F2.8 and be done with it. Then feel free to add a second body for use with your other lenses.

I can imagine that the 100-200 F2.8 looks attractive, but you will find quickly that you don't walk around with that lens like you would a 70-200,F2.8 which you have, and you will always use it at 300mm any way.

I did almost get the FA* 300mm/2.8, but the seller on here did took my offer, then sold the lens to somebody else, that was kind of the deal breaker for me.

I know the K-x has better low light performance than the K-7, after using one for a week, it's too light weight for me, I think. I sure do like something big and heavy

So you're thinking of using a D700 for birding or sports? IMHO, I'd look at the D300s instead so you get the free 1.6x crop/tele/pixel mapping...
If you're getting the D700 for low light, I'd understand the decision...

D300s isn't all that compares to K-7, D700 replacement would be the way to go, but meanwhile, I might have to wait and see if I can get a great deal on the D700(gotta talk to my source)

Wow. If I am willing to spend for 2 systems, then I would just go for 645D . . . . . But, I understand that people have different needs.
