Hi, i actually have these lenses,
50mm f1.7, 50mm f1.2, 28mm 2.8, 18-55 kit lens, 70-210 f3.5
as you see i have no macro (actually i have a 90mm tamron macro but for my nikon camera that i dont use that often).

The thinbg is that i want to shoot macro and i dont want to buy a new lens, i read somewhere about the reverse lens ring. What do i need to buy in order to make this work? no DIY stuff please, thanks a lot!!!!
No DIY? If you want great results, this is a must....

Anywho, my favorite macro setup as of late has been the Pentax M 50mm F/1.7 or Pentax M 28mm F/3.5 reversed on extension tubes. They give perfect magnification for insects....atleast the ones where I live. You would need a filter ring to K mount adapter for this. I would not suggest stacking lenses from your lineup. 50mm isn't long enough to stack, and using a zoom for this will give you results you'll likely not be happy with.

Note: Its almost pointless to attempt photographing insects with a reversed lens setup with extension tubes without a flash setup. Personally, simply reversing a 50mm or 28mm on the body does not give me nearly enough magnification and stacking with your lens lineup would be the same.

My two worthless cents.

Yeah flash helps but its not pointless without it, all these are reversed stacked without flash, all natural light.

You have a Tamron Macro lens for Nikon - is it an auto-focus lens or manual focus? If it's the latter you can just exchange the Nikon mount with a Pentax PK/M or PK/A mount and enjoy partial or complete compatibility with Pentax DSLRs.

Thanks,
its the new autofocus lens

I thought that might be the case; but I am curious - are there any particularly advantageous reason for you to shoot macro using Pentax camera and lens with reversing rings and/or extension tubes, when you already have dedicated macro outfit of Tamron & nikon combination?

Thanks,

Im sorry, what I meant was its almost pointless if you want any DOF.... Sometimes small DOF works, but more often than not it doesn't.
