DA 55-300 Tube Movement

I mounted DA 55-300 to my K20d the another day after a long rest. I notice that when fully extened the tube will move side to side about a 1/8 inch. Would this be consider normal for this lens. The warranty for this lens will expire in August.Recent talk and photos of this lens in the forums has sparked new interest in its use.

Mine moves probably about 1/16 inch. 1/8 seems a bit loose but I couldn't really say if that is really so much, or if it is out of the build tolerances, considering the barrel length.

Have you seen any problems with your shots at 300mm?

The lens takes excellent photo at all focal lenghts. When attaching the hood the lens move about. The 1/8 in being measiye at the lens tip

Thanks for the replies and sorry for that last post, I hit a wrong key and it posted before I was ready. I don't have another tele photo lens to compare it movement. I quess since the 55-300 take good picture ,I will not worry about the barrel movement.
