Beautiful images everyone. I also love this lens and the way it renders color. Here is one taken recently from the Sponge Docks in Tarpon Springs Florida.

this lens at 5.6 is very sharp, in my opinion matches prime lens quality, definately a pro level lens at f5.6. only hope the img quality at f2.8 improve a bit. otherwise I really feel that I bought a 16-50 f3.5 lens
below photo were took at f5 or f5.6

One of my little guys tearing up the fret-board. Loved the light pouring into the room as well as the shadows.

25 foot tall statue titled "Unconditional Surrender" located at the Bayfront in Sarasota. The base photo was given some LR4 treatment.

Yes, it is not perfect. I use DxO to do the raw conversion with this lens. Slow but the images are much better on output. Latest versions have an 'LR' button that takes a few steps out of things for me. Couple of DxO samples on my Flickr site. $150 for a license good for Pentax.

Well since this is an exhibition based thread rather than a discussion based one I will keep my experience brief. I have not performed any particularly stringent tests for edge sharpness. But I don't really have this issue with my copy particularly if it is stopped down. That being said, some time after I received my copy the PCB in the lens died (bought used). I sent to CRIS for repair, they replaced the PCB, the SDM and performed various cleaning and calibration protocols on the lens. Needless to say, the lens came back better than it was before. It is sharper at 2.8 than before, it is noticeably faster focusing and overall a joy to use. Of course nothing can alleviate some of the inherent CA issues wide open this lens has in certain situations but these can easily be remedied in PP. In fact I use DXO on occasion which has an excellent profile for this lens that provides automatic fixes but generally for me I find the controls in LR4 better suited for my own manual fine tuning and tailoring...there is also a lens profile in LR4 for this lens. It seems the sigma can be a great lens as well, but I think that with all manufacturers if one is not happy with the output of a particular lens it might be beneficial to have it factory calibrated. Hope this helps.

By the way I lived in San Diego up till 2010 and know that statue by the midway very well (same sculptor) so imagine my surprise in seeing the same thing the first time I visited Sarasota Fl

no, i don't think is the case, MINE was brought DIED 2nd hand, and pcb and sdm were replaced by CRIS too. I found when is wide 16-24, center is very sharp but not the edge, stopped down help, but when the center gotten even shaper the differences are still there, I would like to say between 35-50mm are fantasic prime liked sharp (when stop down)

I can see why u was suprised when seeing the same staue, I am suprised when seeing 1 here!
