Is it my imagination or does this lens render light in a really....light infused kind of way? :P All of these photos, very different subjects, different photographers - all seem to have a translucence that I don't think is simply my LCD monitor

I sure wish the problems with this lens could be officially declared a thing of the past, because it's on my 'most wanted' list.....but I do worry about the SDM issues, because that's a lot of money to spend only to end up spending to repair as well!
