A few photojournalistic 16 - 50 f2.8 examples

All of these are from the recent student protest at Oxford University. I was very happy with the 16 - 50's performance, just need to work on my own technique a little .

I must confess that since I acquired a few limited lenses my 16-50 gets less attention unless I really need the flexibility of a zoom. A shot from yesterday:

Thank you! That is the view from my study in Benbrook, TX - hard to get much work done here, lol.

Could someone post link(s) to fullsize pic(s) taken at F2.8? The pics in this topic are very small and most of them lack EXIF.

I'm debating whether to try another few samples of Tamron 17-50 (so far only got substandard copies) or buy 16-50. It costs 2,5x more here and the MFT figures on Photozone aren't very convincing.

You should be able to find some wide open shots here, Pentax Lenses on Pixel-Peeper for the 16-50. You can link directly to full-sized images too. When I searched the site, there were a lot of wide open shots which were "not available" at this time. If you search though, you'll find some. Here is one @ 2.8, full sized:

And here is another in better light: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mattcarman/2291825534/sizes/o/

This is a shot I took at a wedding on 2010/11/13.

I did a 100% crop of a section in the middle.

I think that this is a pretty good lens

Richard.

Grizzly Adams

I was taking some portraits of the cast and crew for the school play today and somehow I got included in the mix. Love the DA* 16~50 for this sort of thing. I was thinking I’ve posted hundreds of shots on this forum of birds and things but nothing of myself. I’ve been growing a moustache for Movember – a campaign to raise funds for Prostate Cancer research. Ever the over achiever I tossed in the rest of the beard for nothing. Don’t blame the lens for the subject matter.
