I wouldn't trade this lens for any other. Looking at pictures made by it convinced me to pay the extra bit over the Tamron and Sigma. Just looking to add the 50-135 to my collection
Thanks! They were taken in the desert around Dubai. It was the first time I'd ever been into a desert and it was really beautiful. It was September 2009 and whilst the temperture in Dubai itself was a horendous 40 something (and stupidly humid) the desert was dry and fresh feeling despite being about 32.
The wind coming across the sand dunes was a wonderful feeling, and the coarseness of the grains meant the sand didn't get up in your face or anything. it was an amazing orange colour.
At that point in time I was still using my DS (the other shots were with the K-7) and I had a UV filter on to stop the front element getting sand blasted!

I agree about the quality of this lens. I think it's imaging charms are hard to capture in objective tests, and indeed in web-sized jpgs for that matter
, and so it's reputation isn't nearly as good as it perhaps should be.
