help DA300mm Bummer

Curious if anyone else has had this problem (and solved it)?

I was noticing that my camera with a DA-300mm lens was moving a bit when locked down on a tripod. Further examination revealed that the foot (shoe) with the two point contact between the lens and the tripod is cracked.

Bummer! I wonder if Pentax sells a replacement part? Substituting the new part for the brpken one should be a snap... If not, what else could one do?

Is the lens still under warranty? I'm betting that part is quite pricey. You should probably contact Pentax to find out. Yours is the first report of this I've seen (doesn't mean it hasn't happened though).

I am a little surprised because usually parts like this should be impossible to destroy. Best to contact Pentax and see if they will cover it.
