As the title says, I'm going to check a local store that has been on a lookout for a "like new" FA 77mm 1.8 lens for me, and I finally got the call.

I've never bought a used lens before, so I was wondering what I should specifically check. Over the phone, he said that there is some dust inside the lens, but not to the extent that it's going to affect the picture. He said the price of the lens is about $570.

Any advice would be great! Thanks!

Bring a small flash light to shine through the lens to look for fungus/dust. Also bring a microfiber cloth to clean the lens with to see if that smudge can be cleaned off. Bring your camera, take a few photos with it. Turn everything to check for smoothness. Shoot at infinity and also at closest possible distance. Shoot the min and max apertures. Check for oil on aperture blades. Also watch the aperture blades when you take a photo to see if it's sluggish.
