Here's one of a storm that blew in on me as I was taking some sunset pictures in St. George, UT. While the sunset pics turned out ok, I really liked how this turned out.

K10D, DA 12-24, f/22, 6 second exposure.

Distortion - @12mm the sigma has straight lines on the edges while the DA seems to curve but when shooting people the DA is better
Sharpness and color/contrast is where it stands out but
@24 there are some situations where the images shows low contrast.

true. the findings are spot on. and with regards to 24mm use, try using it at f5.6 (but much preferably at f8).
