Macro for inanimate objects

Hi,
I am considering to buy a new lens with 1:1 macro ability, but I don't like shooting flowers, insects or bugs. My question is for what else you can use the macro mode of such a lens(coins don't count).
So if you have any creative shots of inanimate objects it would be nice if you post them here to give me some inspiration. A little sentence on what you like about your lens would be nice too.
Thanks,
Bismuth

The limit is your imagination, as they say. Here's an example: Pentax User Photo Gallery - Second ( the journey )

Although a lot of the macros in our gallery are nature shots, there's still a handful of still-lifes: Pentax User Photo Gallery - Macro
