Hi folks went to the thrift store today picked up a albinar 28mm lens for 5 bucks and a vivitar ez10 small flash for 3 bucks both are real clean. The lens says auto does that means no manual setting for this I can't get stop down metering when the camera is set on manual but the lens is okay in av mode is this normal for the lens. This site is great Thank You

See the sticky thread at the top of the beginner's forum on how to use manual lenses. The "auto" on the lens doens't really mean it support autoexposure. While you can shoot it in Av mode, you'll find it completely ignores the aperture ring and always meters and shoots wide open. If you want to shoot at any other aperture, you have to use M mode as described in that sticky thread.

Thats what is weird the lens won't stop down manual mode. I've got the 50 1.7 and a 35 t0 70 plus a 70 to 150 they all work fine in manual mode but not the 28mm. I think maybe the lens is broke but for 5 bucks oh well. Thanks Marc
